Beutler Shares Water Saving Tips on KCRA-TV

Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing has been serving homeowners of Sacramento since 1947 with plumbing needs, homeowner questions and tips to offer the public. Speaking of which, our service manager Neil Chapman was recently on KCRA-TV (NBC 3) offered some thoughtful tips on how to conserve water.

One of the main tips Chapman shared with viewers was something we call “silent leakers,” which are typically found in the bathroom.

“You don’t always hear them leaking, and a small toilet leak can waste up to 20 gallons of water a day. A good way to check is a little food coloring in the tank. If it runs through to the bowl then you have a leak,” Chapman said.

As California continues to experience its worst drought in state history, we believe it is vital to understand water-saving tips so we can help both our city and our state save as much water as possible. Other conservation tips Chapman offered KCRA-TV are as follows:

  • Installing low-flow toilets
  • Updating old appliances
  • Recirculating pumps on the hot water
  • Consider high-efficiency models of appliances
